    • Send you appointment or other reminders so you know when to bring your pet in to see us or when they are available to be discharged

    • Process and track external laboratory samples and results

    • Contact you for market research purposes which may be done using email, telephone, or post

    • If your pet is being referred to an external veterinary specialist, in which case we will transfer your contact details and pet's clinic record

    • Retain information in accordance with the law, such as information needed for income tax and audit purposes. We will keep some of your information to meet our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud and abuse. We will only keep what is necessary for these purposes.

    • Comply with our professional liability insurance: this requires that we keep and securely store past clients records for seven years. This includes full name, address, email address and telephone number, but excludes bank account details

    If you choose cremation we will pass your name and address to the crematorium

    In extreme circumstances we may use debt collection agencies, in which case we will need to share contact and account information

  • Forth Petcare Ltd will store all the personal information you provide on its secure servers. Our website is encrypted via SSL providing a secure end to end connection for you and your visitors.

    We will never provide access to our databases to a non-trusted third party.

    Under the GDPR rulings, we would inform our users within 72 hours if any breach of security occurs that might compromise your data.

    Forth Petcare Ltd does not sell or rent your personal data to marketers or unaffiliated third parties.

    We use Mailchimp to manage our newsletter and bulk customer communications. We will store some of your information, including your email address, and certain information about the email links you click within the emails we send you, on a Mailchimp server.

    We will keep a record of consent for marketing communications. We may email existing customers infrequently on the basis of the legitimate interests with non-marketing and essential communications.

    There’s no third-party tracking in messages we send through Mailchimp besides their own analytics. Neither we, nor Mailchimp, will ever sell your email address or share it with any other party, unless we are legally compelled to do so.

  • We use CCTV including audio recording at Leith Vets the safety of our staff, clients and patients. Recordings may also used for training and quality services. Recordings will be kept for 30 days.
